(Best Syndication News) There is no need to spend the extra money for name brand heart disease drugs according to research published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA). Researchers analyzed numerous published studies to determine if generic drugs were as good as their namebrand counterparts (see chart and videos below).
This is an important issue because of the sagging economy and tight budgets. “The problem of rising prescription drug costs has emerged as a critical policy issue, straining the budgets of patients and public/private insurers and directly contributing to adverse health outcomes by reducing adherence to important medications,” the authors wrote.
